Wet Room Elements

Preformed XPS wet room elements for the parts of a bathroom that require precise shaping and waterproof detailing: shower trays with factory-formed drainage slopes, recessed niches, bathtub panels and related components. Each element works with the same coated XPS board system, sealing tapes, sealants and tile adhesives used across the room. Applicable elements carry CE marking to EN 13164; ICC-ES PMG-1804 applies to the evaluated tileable shower system. Confirm the substrate, drain type and position, finished dimensions and installation detail before ordering. Project-specific dimensions can be reviewed against your drawing.

  • One Wet Room, One Coordinated System

A complete wet room needs more than individual components. Wall and floor backer boards, shower trays, recessed niches, bathtub panels, pipe boxing and sealing accessories must work together as one waterproof system. See where each element belongs before selecting products for your project.

Which element belongs in your layout?

Preformation reduces repetitive site work, but it does not remove installation checks. Choose the element against the approved room layout, support and waterproofing detail.

    • Shower trays: our preformed XPS shower trays provide a factory-formed drainage slope. Confirm the shower dimensions, drain type, outlet position and permitted trimming detail before production.
    • Shower niches: a recessed XPS shower niche provides a ready-to-tile recessed unit. Check stud spacing, finished opening, wall build-up and the perimeter sealing detail first.
    • Bathtub panels: preformed XPS bathtub panels create a lightweight, tile-ready surround, with dimensions and openings confirmed against the project.

Curbs, benches and related components can be planned with these elements so the wet room is sourced as one coordinated system rather than assembled from unrelated waterproofing products.

What do the shower-system documents cover?

IAPMO PS 106-2015 report J251017003-1 lists 71 shower-system models and identifies the specific samples tested. For the tested receptor samples, the report records a 1,335 ± 22 N load test and a water-spray test at 40 ± 5 °C for 30 minutes under the stated procedure. These results belong to the tested samples and conditions; they do not mean that all 71 models were individually tested.

The tileable shower system is listed under ICC-ES PMG-1804, and applicable wet-room elements are included in the CE product scope. Installation must follow the evaluated system details and local requirements. Documents are available through Resources.

    Frequently asked questions

Do all preformed shower trays have the same slope?

No. Do not treat one fixed slope as a universal specification for every tray. The PS 106 report addresses a 1–4% drainage-slope range for the evaluated configurations. Confirm the exact tray drawing, drain location, finished floor and local requirements before ordering.

Can a shower tray be trimmed or its drain position changed?

Trimming must stay within the approved product and installation detail; it is not unlimited on-site modification. Drain position and outlet direction must be confirmed before production. Send the room dimensions and a drawing or sketch so the tray can be reviewed as a complete drainage assembly.

Are preformed elements waterproof without sealing the joints?

No complete wet room should rely on the prefabricated element alone. Board joints, tray perimeters, corners, fasteners, penetrations and drain connections still require the specified sealing components and installation sequence.

Send your shower or bathtub dimensions, drain position and a drawing or sketch through our project contact form. We will help identify the required elements, matching boards and sealing components before production.
